As most of you know, Gerson Alvarado was in a work related accident on March 11.2016 in Chilliwack BC.  He is currently in hospital and still in critical condition as he remains unconscious and intubated. He suffered a broken torso, extensive spinal cord damage, lung trauma, broken leg and ankle. He has already had several surgeries, with still many more to come as part of his long road to recovery.  Gerson, known to many simply as ‘G’, is an amazing, caring and loving spouse and best friend to Rosario and a great papa to Rosario's two young  girls.  Rosario is very grateful for Gerson’s life and is looking forward to the day he can come home to his family and friends that miss and love him.

This campaign has been created to help raise money to assist his family during this time of need and uncertainty for the future. His spouse, Rosario, will need to take an indefinite leave of absence from her job to be by Gerson’s side.  She is determined to be there to support him through every step and every challenge that he will certainly face as he recovers.  Just as important she will need to be there for their daughters who are still very young and have been undoubtedly impacted by this accident.  In addition the family will have to move to a new home that will meet his new needs for the future.

This accident has transformed Gerson’s life and his family has suddenly experienced many emotional, physical, spiritual and financial changes.  They must prepare for many more challenges ahead, including moving to a new home that will accommodate Gerson’s new needs.  Additionally, they anticipate they will require specialized equipment to help Gerson recover and adapt.

They do not know what else the future may hold, but they have placed their trust in God to help them get through this. They have let go and let God.  We know that God will take care of this amazing family.  They have already felt God's love through the love and prayers that they have received from family and friends. They feel truly blessed to know they have so many people that love them.

Gerson, Rosario and two children thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your prayers and support.  The love and support from everyone is overwhelming and Rosario can’t wait to tell Gerson how many people love him and have been there for him and his family.

Thank you so much and may God bless each and every one of you.

Anything you could do to help this family would be appreciated

As 2016 comes to an end and we reflect back on this incredibly hard year, we ask ourselves what good has come out of it and what did we learn. The word of God says in Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good, for those who love Him". It's hard to imagine anything good coming out of this tragic accident. But in reality it did. We got to witness with our own eyes that the heart of men is truly loving and caring. We reconnected with old friends and made new friendships. We learned that although, anger and bitterness are strong, love -wow - love can move mountains!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your donations, visits, messages, phone calls, care packages, and thank you for prayers. We can never repay what you did but we ask God to bless you 10 X more!
We wish you and yours an abundtly blessed 2017!

Great news! Gerson is having his last minor surgery this morming and then he is off to rehab! Both Gerson and I, are so excited to start our next chapter and he is really excited to learn to be independent. Two months ago when the accident happened, I was told it would take 6 to 9 months for Gerson to go to rehab and now just two months later, he is heading over there. I couldn't be more proud of his determination and hard work. And I couldn't be more grateful for his miraculous healing. #teamg

It has been 6 weeks since the accident and not a day goes by that I dont thank God for my baby's life. Although, there are still so many unknowns and he still has a long way to go for his recovery, I'm extremely thankful for the progress he has made. His strength, courage and positive attitude inspire me. Gerson Alvarado, I love you unconditionally.

Thank you to each one of you for your prayers and support to G! The doctors say Gerson is healing at a "Miraculous rate"! He is now out of the ICU and has been moved to the spine unit. His breathing tube has been removed and he can now talk and eat! His broken bones are healing and his exams are coming back with good results, but Gerson is still going through a very difficult process as he is remembering what happened and finding out about the loss of his friend Sebastian has been really hard. Also, he is aware of the outcome that the doctors are saying about his legs at this time, as he is not able to feel them. And although, Gerson is grateful that he is alive and he is trying to stay focus on the
blessings and having faith, understandably he is having a hard time accepting this. But, in spite of all these challenges Gerson is also feeling very loved by everyone that has supported him, Rosario and the family in so many ways.
We are grateful to God for the miracles over G. We are staying strong in Faith and praying for Gerson, and your amazing support and prayers are a blessing to him, Rosario and the family. Thank you!
God bless each one of you and your families.
We believe! TeamG.
