'Project Time'

Who Am I?

I'm Ann (without the 'e') and I want to share my wonderful friends story with you. Please read right to the bottom as that is where we need your help.

Anne-Marie's Story.

Life was good for Anne-Marie and Lincoln, they had their wonderful first born daughter, Lucy and were expecting twins. On 8th January 2009 their identical twin daughters were born but sadly, Grace was born with her butterfly wings. Alice was small but perfect and continued to grow into the beautiful healthy 8 year old she is today.

Anne-Marie and Lincoln had to face life without one of their daughters which was so hard for them. Things were not easy after the birth and Anne-Marie underwent surgery to remove her gall bladder which delayed Grace's funeral service for a number of weeks.

Over time things became a little easier and life became manageable again. Grace was talked about and has never been forgotten and her birthday along with Alice's is celebrated every year.

In 2012, Anne-Marie noticed a swelling in her right breast. An emergency mammogram showed she had breast cancer and within a few hours, surgery had been organised for her to have a mastectomy, she was 35 years old!

As always Anne-Marie showed bravery, courage and she never complained. She underwent gruelling cheomatherapy followed by radiotherapy and then hormone therapy and she wore her loss of hair with dignity and pride!

On 27th March 2017, Anne-Marie will be celebrating her 40th Birthday and being five years cancer free. She was planning a big party (which is still happening) to celebrate her birthday and beating such an awful disease, but at the end of November 2016 after having an xray on her very painful leg she was told the news she had a lesion on her hip bone.

This terrifying news turned her world upside down but in her normal way and as Christmas was fast approaching, she carried on and made the festive period and Lincoln's birthday perfect. In December she saw her specialist who looked after her through her breast cancer and he explained the findings of the xray.

After seeing her oncologist on 4th January 2017, she was told the news that no-one wants to hear, her cancer had returned and it was in her hip bone. She cannot have anymore cheomatherapy and the words 'terminal' and 'palliative care' were used in the same sentence.

Anne-Marie needed answers! What could be done to help her? It was agreed a course of radiotherapy would help shrink the lesion and regular bone injections would be given along with different drugs to give her the best quality of life possible.

In her normal way, she underwent the intense course of radiotherapy without complaining and has regular injections. Her life has changed already, she is not working and days out have to be planned carefully due to her pain. Even general housework and food shopping can be problamatic.

Her girls, Lucy now aged ten and Alice aged eight are aware of the cancer returning and have been amazing and understand 'mum' cannot do quite as much as she used to. I'm sure that when Anne-Marie returns to hospital for further sugery in the very near future they will become the perfect 'little nurses' and will take great care of their mum.

Moving Forward

Anne-Marie has been told she cannot receive any financial assistance, and it's daunting to think that she may have to return to work. There are many supplements she can take to kill the cancer cells but everything comes at a great cost, her supplements alone are in excess of £380-00 per month.  The Far Infared Mat is priced at £325-00 per month until the cost is paid in full.

The figures do not add up! Not working = NO income = spending at least £705-00 a month on items to try and slow down the cancer spreading and aid pain relief.

There will be many other things Anne-Marie can try to slow down the cancer spreading. As simple as eating organic food where no pesticides are used, but it all comes at a cost.

I feel helpless! Can you help me?

I have set up this page 'Project Time' to help my special friend. She hasn't asked for help and it did take her a while to agree to me setting up the project. She's very private and does not like to rely on others, but 'pride' will not give her the best quality of life and time. She needs time, she is too young and not ready to let this cruel disease beat her!

We can make a difference in many ways, whether we donate a sum of money, set up a monthly direct debit or have fundraising ideas of our own. Every penny raised will be used for Anne-Marie's care and to make her life a little more comfortable and if possible pain free.

Anne-Marie would give  her 'last penny' to help anyone if she thought it would  make a difference and now it is time for us to help her.

She wants to see her girls grow up and become the successful beautiful girls they are destined to be. She has so much to give, so much love to share and so much more life to live. Please help me in supporting her to achieve what we all take for granted 'Time'!

She needs time, 'Project Time' can make a big differnce.

On behalf of The Noel family, thank you for reading Anne-Marie's story, for your thoughts and your kindness.

Please help me keep this beautiful family together for as long as possible. Together we can give 'Time' and make a difference.
