Help us save our microphones!
Hi! We are Kaleidoscope Theatre, a non-profit theatre company based in Cranston, RI. We have been producing and traveling with award-winning children’s plays for over 40 years. Favorite fairy tales have been coming to life on the stages of the major theaters of New England with musicals that the whole family loves! 
Schools have booked us to help their students learn about important topics such as how to deal with a bully, how to get along with people who are different, and how important it is to do the right thing. 
We are a traveling company so everything goes with us – costumes, sets, props, and microphones so that every word will be heard by our excited young audiences members. Wear and tear is part of the journey but now we are faced with a situation that requires an immediate solution – the frequencies of our microphones have been sold to the cell phones companies leaving anyone who has wireless mics like we do scrambling for solutions.
We’ve got the solution.
We’ve done the research, found what we need to go forward - the mics, the upgraded sound board and connections to go along with them. We are ready to make the change.
That’s where you come in.
We need your help so another little first grader will be able to hear our show “I’m Special, You’re Special” and share with us that she learned that we’re really not all that different and we should just get along. A powerful lesson for all of us to hear!
We need your help so another middle school student can tell us that he used to be a bully but that after seeing our show “B.U.L.L.Y. – Better Understanding by Listening and Learning about You”, he would never do it again. 
We need your help so that we can continue to see the faces of little children light up when they hear their favorite fairytale character sing to them in person rather than in a movie or on some electronic device.
Here’s where the money will go.
- 8 Sennheiser EW 122 GS Wireless Lavalier Microphones - $650 each
(We need 8 microphones because some of our fairy tales like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty have 8 lead characters) Total is $5200
- Yamaha TF-Rack Digital Rackmount Mixer - $2100
Total of $7300
(If you’re wondering why that total doesn’t match what we’re asking for it’s because we’ve been lucky to get a grant from the South Shore Playhouse Associates for $3000 towards the microphone and mixer purchase. So we’re just looking for the balance.)
The frequency change is happening this fall which is sooner than we even expected so we hope you will donate and share our page with other people who believe in the kind of work we do for kids.
