With the start of one young lady’s dreams coming true through education and hard work, we are proud to announce the funding for La Providencia Orphanage outside of Dolores Hidalgo, which will now be called the “The Juanita Foundation.”

Juanita has proven that with the help of our community, we can make an impact in hers and many others’ lives.

What started as a fundraiser for a solar powered heater and clothes and shoes for Christmas for this orphanage, has now grown into a campaign to help older teens like Juanita be able to pursue what they love by going to college and start a career.

Juanita’s story began when she was 16-years-old, thinking about her future outside of La Providencia as she grew older.

As a teen in Mexico with no family, young adults chances of getting taken advantage of or lead into a criminal lifestyle are high. They are susceptible to desperate measures in order to survive.

With each donor’s help, we have been able to fund Juanita into bringing her life goal to reality: becoming a Chef.

Two years later, with our goal exceeded in support, she has earned her way through the Universidad de Santa Fe in Mexico, and is now planning her internship with a lead chef in Spain.

Our goal is to continue raising funds for Juanita’s internship, and to begin the movement of changing another teen’s life with education and empowerment through the Juanita Foundation.

As in the past, every penny that is donated goes to the welfare of these children.  If any further information is desired, please contact us via email at shortelldesign@yahoo.com or jackquelynbrown@gmail.com.

I am convinced in my heart by reaching out to these children in the orphanage and becoming a partner in their dreams and aspirations, we are in a small part helping to make this world a better place.

Thank you for your support,

I am so appreciative of the help I received from others when I was going through college. I want to pass on that blessing to others.
