I am so excited to announce that I have just been accepted into Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti
Vocal Training Intensive in Lucca, Italy! I have wanted to study in Italy for such a long time, and I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity!

If you don't know me very well, I am a Junior Vocal Performance major at Baldwin Wallace University. My main focus is on opera, but I also have a passion for choral music, jazz, golden age musical theater, and art song. I study voice with my wonderful teacher, Dr. Marc Weagraff. I perform with Baldwin Wallace's Motet and Bach choirs under the instruction of Dr. Dirk Garner. This semester I was cast in the main stage opera at Baldwin Wallace as Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites directed by Scott Skiba and music directed by Octavio Más-Arocas and Jason Aquilla.
Last year I was cast as Pitti-Sing in The Mikado at Baldwin Wallace. Before I came to school here, I did a lot of theater in Pittsburgh. I performed Mickey in a cross-gender version of Damn Yankees, and Fredrika in A Little Night Music with the Pittsburgh Festival Opera, Tina in The Little Sweep with Microscopic Opera, Elsie in The Yeomem of The Guard, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and Rose in Ruddigore with The Pittsburgh Savoyards.
About this program:
The program runs from June 29th to July 26th.
I would get Italian language courses five days a week and be able to practice and use it outside of class in Lucca, Italy.
There are amazing voice teachers on the facutly from major graduate schools like Rice and CCM.
I would get two private voices lessons a week and two private coachings as well as weekly dramatic coachings.
There are movement and acting courses every day of the week.
Diction classes.
Scene study.
Masterclasses.
Four recital performances in and around Lucca.
Cost:
Tuition: $4,250
Travel: $1,300
Food: $700 ($25/day)
I have already saved $700.
I was able to buy my plane ticket for $1,300.
I anticipate saving $250 from work study at Baldwin Wallace.
That leaves $4,000 that we need to raise in a few months. Ahhhhhhhh! But I believe that this is possible. Your contribution of any amount, or sharing this page will help me reach this goal.
