Open Classroom Dance Floor
Donation protected
The classes Prácticas del Cuerpo: Colaboraciones que construyen (Women & Gender Studies Program) + DIY Urbanism (School of Architecture) from The University of Puerto Rico and PISO Proyecto, have joined together to create an open classroom for movement exercises and other body practices. The actual floor is made out of a rough concrete slab, therefore a smoother surface is needed for bearable movement practices. The site is located inside the UPR's Campus, in front of The Women and Gender studies program.
The students designed a treated plywood platform with plastic pallets as its base with dimensions of 20'x24'. We need 17 treated wood panels for exterior and 35 pallets. Each wood panel costs $30.00 approximately and the plastic pallets are $15.00 each. We also need to buy srews, paint and other miscellaneous construction materials. The full construction will be made by students of both classes and their professors.
We hope you can help us build!
