Help Lily and Other Horses Like Her

Omega Horse Rescue is fundraising to cover the medical costs for Lily, an abused and abandoned horse, and others just like her. Omega regularly encounters abused, neglected, and sick horses that require extensive medical care. Here is Lily's story:
Cruelty Officers received a call from the management of the New Holland Sales Stable when they discovered an abandoned horse left on their property on 3/14/16 after their normal horse sale was over. The condition of this horse prompted the stable management and stable veterinarian to contact the SPCA for assistance. The horse was not originally checked in as a "horse for sale" and appeared to be dumped at the sales stable property after the sale was finished. No identification on the horse could be found.
The horse is an approximately 20-year-old Arabian/app pony cross. The pony scored a low body condition and is blind in the right eye. In addition to having a slight temperature, it was apparent the pony had been shot with a paint gun nearly 130 times. The pony was sore to the touch. The sales stable veterinarian evaluated the horse and provided treatment and pain medication in order for her to be transported to New Bolton Center by Omega Horse Rescue.
Lily is now an inpatient at New Bolton Center in their isolation ward. The initial minimum estimated cost for Lily's stay at New Bolton Center is $8000. That estimate does not include the cost of the surgery she is scheduled to have on 3/17/16 to remove her right eye and to treat her left eye, in hopes of saving some of her vision. That is the minimum and does not include the surgery or any costs that may arise from complications in her case.
Additionally, Omega Horse Rescue has outstanding veterinary bills of $28,000 between New Bolton Center and another local vet clinic from rescuing horses who had equally urgent health concerns. In order to continue this work, Omega needs to fundraise to reduce and eliminate the current balances.
