Oldies at TKD Champs, Belarus 2018

SOME say age is just a number. A group of martial artists from Perth, Western Australia, definitely agree.
Four veteran Taekwon-Do practitioners, aged from 53 to 73, will be representing Australia at the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) World Championships in Belarus in August 2018.
ITF Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art practiced throughout the world. More than 700 competitors from 60 countries are expected to compete at the World Championships.
These four veterans are members of the Low Taekwon-Do Academy in Perth's hills region. They have been training together for close to 30 years.
Competing internationally in Taekwon-Do is regarded as a great honour, however it is still an amateur sport to many. All competitors are expected to bear their own costs of training and participation in international tournaments. The four veterans are seeking financial support to help defray the cost of return airfares and accommodation for the upcoming World Championships in Belarus. All support will be gratefully accepted as these veterans have a good chance of bringing home medals for Australia in their respective events.
The Australian team going to Belarus was named following a gruelling selection process in Sydney in December 2017. The 17-member national squad has 10 veterans and seven juniors. Western Australia has reason to be especially proud of this team.
Eleven of the team members are from WA. The youngest junior (Kelsie Williams at 14) and the oldest veteran (Ian Green at 73) are both West Aussies. The team's two coaches are also from WA: 7th Dan Master Jason Bradley and 5th Dan International Instructor Justin Low.
