Help Okie get Stem Cell Therapy!

$16,450 of $40,000 goal

Raised by 137 people in 5 months
Jason "Okie" Okerstrom has been and still is undergoing treatment for Lyme Disease going on 3 years.  Throughout this journey we have also found heavy metal poisoning contributed from all of his mercury fillings.  He went under extensive dental work to remove all of his fillings and two severally infected root canals that penetrated his sinus system and ate away at his bone.  Followed by medication to help remove it from the rest of his body.

He was affected and experienced a set back when we moved back to MN from CO and the rental house we moved into had severe mold.  If that wasn't enough for him to treat for he was also diagnosed with some co-infections that are common with Lyme Disease such as Bartonella and Mycoplasma.

Throughout everything he continues to be the strong willed, quirky, amazing man we all love and determined to get better!  We are  working with an amazing Lyme Disease specialist out of Wisconsin that we travel to every other week.  Okie is responding great but this is were we are in need of help.  Throughout all of his medical treatment about 90% of it has been cash out of pocket as insurance won't cover it.  We are in need of all of your help to continue his treatment and rehab to get him the rest of the way!  The money would be used towards additional treatment, travel expenses, medical equipment and rehabilitation as he is working hard at walking again, using his arms and speech.

A treatment that a lot of Lyme Disease patients have had great success with and Okie would like the option to consider would be Stem Cell Therapy.  This would not be covered by insurance at all so majority of the goal of this would go towards providing him that opportunity.  It would cover the cost of the treatments that he would receive 5 to 6 days a week for one month, travel costs, lodging, food and help with me missing work to be there for him.    This would help his body continue to heal, repair  and help his Immune system so he can eventually get off of all of the medications and supplements.

Between the Lyme Disease, Co-infections, Mold and Metals it has effected his ability to care for himself.  The rest of the funds will go towards our biweekly visits with his Lyme Disease specialist and rehabilitation.   He is currently working  on regaining strength, function and properly using his legs to walk, using of his arms and his speech.   He is currently in a wheelchair until he regains the use of his arms, hands and legs.

In addition to everything I had symptoms start to show up and was diagnosed with both Lyme Disease and Babesia but responding great to the treatment because of our amazing doctor!

It doesn't seem like it has been since 2015 when he medically retired from the Stearns County Sheriffs Office after being Law Enforcement for 20 years.

Thank you to our amazing family and friends for your continued love, support, positive thoughts and prayers!  We truly couldn't do this without you!

We still have a journey of healing ahead of us but we will get there!  Again thank you all for your love, prayers and support it means the world to both of us!

Fantastic week and still 3 treatment days to go! He has received physical therapy both Monday and Wednesday this week and loved every minute of it with a smile on his face! He will get round 3 on Friday with the goal of 3 times a week. Okie also received his first ozone treatment where they hook him up and take his blood out, clean it, ozone and put it back in. Really interesting process! Crazy to see all of the junk in his blood as it came out and nice clean blood as it went back in. We got to see the. Container with all the toxins that were removed. It went really well! We also reviewed his test results and they showed some great improvements already! We already added some new medication for the week and will be adding some more to help his body continue to heal and rebuild damage from the Lyme disease, mold, heavy metals and coinfections from all of the years.

Hi everyone,

We have had a busy and great week of treatment! Okie continues to respond and accept all of the treatment really well! He's is receiving comments from other patients on how well he is looking and how they can tell a difference on him from our first day now 2 weeks ago. As of yesterday we finished our 2nd week. We got the fantastic news last week of good test results showing things are working and the opportunity for him to start receiving physical therapy while we are here. We weren't aware that was going to be an option so are really excited for the opportunity to get it 3 times a week. This week we look forward to starting some new treatments/procedures that will help to continue to bring out all the toxins in his body. Some of the new ones that will be added are ozone therapy and massages.

We want to thank everyone for your continued love, support and prayers! It means the world to us!

Thank you,
Kate and Okie

In the update earlier tonight I forgot to include one of my favorite moments of the week! I should have taken a picture! A couple other patients at the end of the week and told him how they could see a difference and improvement in him since Monday! He was so proud and excited! Brought a truly amazing smile to his face and you could see it on his face and in his eyes how much he LOVED hearing that!

Hi everyone!

First thank you to everyone for your continued support via thoughts, prayers and donations! We wouldn't be blessed and be able to be here without you!

It's been a crazy but wonderful week! Okie received treatment 6 days this week with today being the only day he got off.

Some wonderful things he is already experiencing that he has shared with me are less muscle and joint pain, muscles are relaxing and not so tight, appetite is returning and sleeping better than he has in years! We are hopeful and saying our prayers we continue to see nothing but wonderful improvements over the next 4 weeks as he continues to receives his Stem Cells 6 days a week as well as other supplemental treatments that go along with the stem cells.

He is constantly smiling!

We continue to get closer to our goal each day! Please help us continue to spread the word and together we will make our goal for our second and final payment for Okie's continued treatment.

We have met some truly amazing people and their families that are here on healing journeys as well!

Thank you again for your support,
Kate and Okie
