My Senior Project

My name is Cecilia Glass. My team and I are the creaters of Off The Wall. All my life my parents have pushed me into finding and following what I am most passionate about. They pushed me to be independant and not to follow the status quo if that wasnt what made me happy. When I hit high school I fell in with my older sister and her friends, they were the more artsy crowd. I fell in love with the way people could create and I quickly started getting involved with the different mediums of art from woods and welding, to foods, to photography and finally fashion. I was fasinated by the industry of fashion and art becuase they often collided in the most off the wall ways. From the models and designers to even the people that attended the many events it was amazing to me how fashion and art could bring so many different people from all walks of life together. In my mind the world is about connecting and bonding, and I see that happen every time someone shows another person their own version of art becuase they are willingly giving another person a piece of themselves. 

      I started noticing the more shows I went to the fewer amount of teenage and college designers attended and/or showed their work. My show is about getting them more involved so that the world can see their work that they put so much effort into. I have asked many people why that is, for most its because of lack of support. I strongly believe that with giving them a chance to connect and grow with other artists and designers that it will help them with pursuing their passion along with giving them a taste of what the industry has to offer them.
