OfficialJustice4Juan&StreetVendors
This is the official go fund me account for justice4Juan the hotdog vendor at UC Berkeley.
We have garnered support from thousands of concerned and compassionate people. In this process we have learned that Beto has had a dream to own a Food Truck. Therefore, the goal has been modified to help him fulfill that dream. A new truck with new equipment fully permitted and wrapped cost around $150,000. Let's help make Beto's dream a reality! Spread the love and tell your friends.

Background on the story
On Saturday, September 9, 2017 I took my children to enjoy a Cal Beekeley football game. We had a great time. After the game I promised them that I would support the hotdog vendors by buying food from them. I captured this video as we were interrupted by UC Berkeley Police officer. Thank you for your compassion to support this effort.

We are excited to share with you that we have raised $92,560 with 5,807 donors and counting. On Saturday September 23rd following the check Presentation at UC Berkeley, Beto and I submitted the request to GoFundMe to release funds. They take 5 to 7 business days to complete the transaction. Beto has granted me permission to receive the funds from GoFundMe and upon receiving them I will get a cashiers check and give it to him. Note that GoFundMe charges 8% for their services.
We will keep the account active. The story of Beto is a symbol of hard working people who are trying to provide an honest living for their families. Our hope is that we can generate enough funds for a new truck or another food business that is licensed and/or permitted. The public response has been such an inspiration that people from throughout this country have gave from their hearts to show support.
Thanks to the University of California Berkeley Center for Latino Policy Research for hosting a great event where the check was presented to Beto on Saturday, September 23rd
