Ober Gatlinburg Ski Patrol FireFund

Donation protected
I'm Glenn Campbell, the patrol representative for Ober Gatlinburg Ski Patrol.   We are raising funds to help four of our patrollers who lost their homes in the devastating wild fires in Gatlinburg, TN on November 28, 2016.  We  will  withdraw the funds and distribute  by check 100% of the money received to our patrollers who are victims of the fires.  It will be divided equally among the households.  The affected patrollers can then use the funds to help pay for the many unplanned expenses we are sure they will encounter as they attempt to rebuild their homes & lives.

We see this as a chance to give back to a few of the most giving members of our patrol:  Joy Jucker, Pete Jucker, Amanda Perryman, and Tom Sabo

Joy is just a few years shy of 50 years of volunteer service in the National Ski Patrol.  There's not enough space to list her contributions (Patrol Rep, OEC Instructor, IOR's, Examiners---thousands of hours volunteering)  If that werent enough, befitting of her name, she has fulfilled these roles with a smile and JOY that rival none.

Amanda simply defined?  A caring heart.   She's not only a ski patroller, but a paramedic in the Gatlinburg Fire Department.    She spends countless hours teaching kids fire safety and has gone overseas at least twice for humanitarian / mission work.

Pete loves to teach.  He loves to teach people to teach.  Besides being a Level III snowboard and a Level II skiing instructor, he's an OEC instructor, and an Instructor Trainer for Instructor Development (I'm guessing there are probably a few certifications I dont know about as well).  Additionally,  if you need a hand, Pete is always there willing to help.

Tom Sabo is relatively new to the patrol, but he is one of those that you knew immediately was going to be an asset.   Soon after completing OEC, he began the process of becoming an instructor.  He's also an F4 Air National Guard Pilot.

These patrollers exemplify the giving spirit.  I hope you can join me in giving back to them in their time of need!

Approximately 75% of this money has already been dispersed to the patrollers.  Bill Mattison, our patrol treasurer,  will then disperse the remainder of the  funds at the end of our  campaign.  We have decided to extend the campaign until the end of January since donations are still coming in.  Thanks to everyone for your generous support.   Its been nothing short of amazing!
