I have created this page for my cousin Alex. She is in desperate need of help to receive vital breast cancer treatment.
Alex is one of the strongest and most fiercely independent women I know. She is tenacious and passionate. Her determination is inspirational.
It is this determination and inner-strength that has motivated me to set up this page.
Alex would never ask for our help, as she does not want to be a burden especially financially upon her family and friends. However desperately needs help to pay for her cancer treatment.
Alex was diagnosed with breast cancer three weeks before her wedding. Alex did not share this news with the majority of her family and friends until after the wedding. Alex chose to keep this burden to herself, when she should have been focusing on her special day and not on the hurdles this young couple have ahead of them.
Alex and her husband have been through so much and we would just like to help lighten the load. Alex’s family all live in Australia and it has been so tough on her emotionally to be so far away from loved ones when she has been going through her daunting cancer journey.
When Alex was diagnosed she was given only one option and that was for a mascetomy followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Alex has dreams of having children very soon and wants to do so without the chemicals in her body – but was told that they would not complete the surgery without chemo and radiation.
Alex has had to find alternative treatments – which are not covered by NHS. Alex is no longer able to work and is not able to receive any financial assistance.
It has been very difficult on her husbands’ income alone, to live day to day let alone to be able to afford Alex’s life saving treatment.
My immediate goal is for £10,000 for Alex to proceed with the treatment but has been unable to complete due to the lack of finances. We really need these finances as soon as possible because all of her treatments have had to be put on hold until we can raise the money.
My Dream would be to raise an additional £30,000 so that we can send Alex to Mexico to get specialised treatment at The Hope4Cancer treatment centre. This is the only place in the world that offers these breakthrough treatments and we would just love to give Alex the opportunity to be treated here!!! This amount would cover all of her costs and give her the best chance of fighting this battle with breast cancer and winning!!!!
