#TeamLily Fighting Leukemia

Lilyana is a sweet, caring, fun loving four year old preschooler who has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. A few months ago Lilyana began complaining of pain in her abdomen and eventually pain in her legs. After weeks of doctors’ visits and a three night stay at CCMC doctors were no closer to figuring out what was wrong. On October 26th, 2017 during a scheduled blood test Lilyana was diagnosed with B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B cell ALL) and was immediately admitted to CCMC. The following day she began the induction phase of her treatment. Lilyana remained in the hospital for three weeks and has just recently become strong enough to continue treatment as an outpatient.

The Oncologist team at CCMC believes with the right treatment regimen Lilyana’s prognosis is very good. While her family takes comfort in this they are aware of the long and difficult road ahead for their sweet girl. Treatment for B cell ALL is a 2 ½ to 3 year process which includes chemotherapy, steroid treatments, periodic spinal taps/bone marrow aspiration, along with blood transfusions as needed. Lily has already gone through so much these past few weeks and continues to amaze her family with her strength and courage.

Years of treatment will undoubtedly bring large medical debt, Lily’s family is already beginning to see hospital bills accumulate. This fund has been created to alleviate some of the financial burden on the family so they may focus their energy on caring for Lily and her two older brothers. Any contributions will go directly towards paying for Lily’s medical expenses over the next few years.
