The New York State Assembly, and several New York State Senators, would like to put you out of business by making the sale of health insurance in NYS illegal.
The New York Health Act would outlaw the sale of health insurance in NYS and replace current health plans with a universal health plan administered by the state of New York.
Hard to believe? It’s passed the NYS Assembly twice in the past two years. And while it hasn’t been taken up by the Senate yet, it has been introduced there - and the current national and local political climates mean that there’s no guarantee that it won’t be passed by both houses and become law in the future.
One of the reasons that it hasn’t been taken up in the Senate yet is the actions taken on your behalf by NYAHU, the New York State Association of Health Underwriters .
