This is Nyjah Asbury, the reigning Miss Loris Bog-Off and she is ready to represent the City of Loris in this June's Miss South Carolina Pageant.
She has hit the streets of Loris collecting donations from area businesses but is $900 short her required goal.
Her deadline for entering the pageant is May 1.
At the same time, she is preparing for the pageant, Nyjah has stayed very busy a freshman at Horry-Georgetown Technical College where is studying to become an elementary teacher.
She has also spent many months raising money for the Children's Miracle Network.
Being a part of the pageant is very important to her because her platform will be Fibromyalgia awareness. It is a disease she has battled for the past four years. She knows her experience can benefit others with the disease.
"I am very thankful for the donations I have already received and for those who will contribute," she said.
