“Help convert the kids launch to clean electric energy!”

The kid’s launch has been powered by a diesel engine. Diesel is smoky, loud and bad for the environment. Electric engines are the future.  We want to convert the kids launch to clean, electric energy. This will be the FIRST all-electric USCG-certified vessel in New York Harbor. Kids will no longer be exposed to diesel fumes!
The launch is part of Operation Optimist, the largest junior sailing program in New York Harbor. https://sailmanhattan.com/opti/  We serve kids from 8-13 years of age. We provide them with life changing experiences. Sailing is a green sport which uses wind power.


The cost to change the launch to electric power is $30,000. Our GoFundMe target is $5,000 which will get the project started. The rest of the funds will be raised at the 22nd Annual Sailors Ball. https://sailorsball.com/

As a special “thank you” to people who donate $250 or more, we will invite you and your family or friends (4 people) to ride on the electric launch this summer and circumnavigate the Statue of Liberty. You will get a chance to see and experience the great investment you made.
