NYC Shut It Down (a.k.a. Grand Central Crew) is a NYC-based direct action organization in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement. We have been featured in the Netflix film “Copwatchers” and our work is currently being aired every Weds at 11pm on BET “ Copwatch America”
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We feed and clothe people in our communities with our #FeedThePeople initiative and have been doing so for almost 2 years now
The last Monday of every month we are in East Harlem and the third Saturday of every month we are in the Bronx. We need your help to continue this truly grassroots initiative, we have no funding and we are not a non profit! Please share and donate what you can ✊✊
We demand an end to unaccountable police violence and criminalization of daily life.
We seek funding from those who support the #BlackLivesMatter movement and value direct action groups like ours who take the message to the streets.
Your donations to NYC Shut It Down will be spent on the operational costs of organizing 2 monthly food serves, materials for artwork, banners & informatinal material, and legal expenses.
We are an all-volunteer organization, so every dollar you donate to NYC Shut It Down will be spent directly on these crucial elements of our direct action and community organizing campaigns to end police violence.
