NYC Says Enough Rally
If you want to find out more about NYC Says Enough, check out our website! nycsaysenough.org
4/8 - Thank you so much to everyone who helped us hit our goal! We’ll see you on April 20th!
UPDATE: 4/6: We are humbled by the amount of support we have gotten, both in donations and support. Along with extending our program to include more survivors and merchandise, we have officially decided to become a 501C organization. We are working with lawyers to make this happen, and can't wait for April 20th and beyond.
UPDATE 4/3: Thanks to all of the generous donations, we have expanded our program, and thus our budget to $7,000 to include posters, action tables, and transportation and hotels for survivors of gun violence who are speaking at the event.
NYC Says Enough, a coalition of New York City students fighting for comprehensive gun reform, is raising money for a stage, sound system, and permits for our rally on April 20, 2018. The rally will be held in Washington Square Park, and we are expecting at least 5,000 students from over 20 major NYC schools to attend.
All the proceeds will go towards obtaining permits, a stage, permit costs, sound systems, merchandise, flying survivors from Columbine and Parkland to NYC to speak, and becoming a 501c organization.
We have received estimates and believe that this will cost about $6,500 dollars. We are asking for $7,000 to other related costs such as meeting spaces or miscellaneous costs that may unexpectedly arise. Any and all excess money will be donated to various gun violence charities.
As a group run entirely by students, we have encountered some difficulties in raising sufficient funds for an event we are sure will be incredibly profound. We deeply appreciate any contribution you can make!
Note: As we are students, one of our parents, Stephanie Weiner, will be withdrawing funds and dispersing them to the appropriate parties and vendors on behalf of our organization.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contacts us at nycsaysenough@gmail.com.

Dear donors,
Thank you so much again for supporting our rally on April 20! We are indebted to you for your generous donation and greatly appreciate your help in making the rally a success.
On April 20, over 6,000 students from across the tri-state area gathered at Washington Square Park to rally for comprehensive gun reform at the federal and local levels. Speakers included the President of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten; two NYC Councilmen, Brad Lander and Keith Powers; Congressman Jerry Nadler (D-NY-10); US Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Christopher Hansen, a Pulse survivor; Isabelle Robinson, a Parkland student; Amalia Fernand, a Columbine shooting survivor; and almost two dozen impassioned students.
Quite a few media outlets covered our rally. Here are some of the articles:

We are now planning our next event and will reach out once we have details. In the meantime, if you want to continue to support our efforts, please feel free to visit our website, nycsaysenough.org and learn more about our upcoming projects. As a reminder, all of the additional money will go towards our future projects and none of the organizers take anything for themselves. We thank you again for your tremendous support in supporting students and our mission.
Thank you as always,
The NYC Says Enough Team
