Northwest Regional Police K9 Unit

$1,530 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 26 people in 13 months
The Northwest Regional Police Department is seeking asistance to start our first K9 Unit.  Our starting cost is approximately $60,000 and the majority of those funds have to be generated by donations. We are hoping to generate $10,000 of that through Go Fund Me. This means we need a lot of help from a lot of generous people.

It is our hope that if we can start a K9 Unit, our K9 will be trained in Drug Detection, Tracking, and Patrol Tactics.

We understand the growing drug epidemic within our communities and are trying to start the K9 Unit as an assett to combat the drug issues we have all been effected by.

Our K9 will be trained to track people in the event a child gets lost or someone with a medical issue walks away from a health facility.

The K9 will also be trained in Patrol Tactics. This is best known as bite work. In some critical situations, our K9 may be called upon to protect Officers or even neutralize dangerous incidents.

Our future K9 needs your help in becoming a member of our department's family. We truely appreciate anyone who is willing to help us get one step closer for us to meet our new puppy.

Please support us in this journey by donating any monetary value you can afford or you see fit. Every dollar counts.

Thank you very much for all your support.

After much anticipation, our K-9 has finally arrived. K-9 Arlo is a German Shepherd/ Belgium Malinois mix. He will be training with his partner, Officer Seidel in patrol, drug section and tracking. Arlo is mild mannered and has a great personality. He is still adjusting since coming from the Czech Republic but loves to play with his Officer Seidel. Arlo will be going to the K-9 academy mid March and will be back in April to take a bite out of crime. Thank you all who have supported this program. We couldn’t have done it without you.
