Billy Constable's Family Fund
In 2011 a benign tumor was found on his brain and he was operated on to remove that tumor. In October 2014, during a follow up, Billy was found to have another tumor in the same area, this time malignant, and was subsequently operated on to remove as much of the tumor as the doctors could. What Billy has is called a gliosarcoma.
During this surgery he suffered a stroke, which left him partially paralyzed on his left side and affected his vision substantially. During the last 5 months he has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Though still undergoing chemotherapy, he will return home from the hospital where he has been for the last 5 months.
His mother Lois is his sole caretaker and because of Billy's loss of income and the ongoing care he will need at home, his friends have started this gofundme page to help with their financial needs.
Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
And thank you for caring.
Billy is still at the Asheville medical facility undergoing another round of chemo this week. The family had been hoping to take him home last week, but alas. The plan is to move him, possibly next week, (fingers crossed) to a facility closer to Spruce Pine for a short time and thereafter home. He would like nothing better than to be home.
Billy, Lois, and the family would like to send out a heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you, for your kind healing words, thoughts, and prayers and your generosity. Y'all are awesome!
On Thursday, October 8th, 2015, there will be a Billy Constable Memorial Jam at Isis Music Hall in Asheville, NC.
Thank you Billy, for sharing your gift with us. You will be greatly missed.

The benefit for Billy will be held on Thursday, October 8th at the Isis Restaurant and Music Hall, 743 Haywood Rd. Asheville, NC from 7:30 pm till 1am. We cannot post phone numbers or email addresses on gofundme so if you are a picking buddy of Billy's and would like to play, please email us from here (to do that, click on Debbie Ryder with little envelope on the right then 'contact organizer') and we'll put you in touch with Griff Martin, who is handling that.
Billy is now at St Joe's in Asheville under Hospice care. At this time they are unsure how long he will be there. They may move him to another facility sometime this week. If you'd like to send a note to him you can mail those to 1396 Hanging Rock Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
His friends are planning a benefit bluegrass jam here in Asheville. We'll let you know where and when as soon as they finalize the details.
Thank you again, for your healing thoughts and prayers, and for being Billy's friend. He loves you all.
