The RLHS Green Team is looking to raise the rays!
The Green team was awarded a USB grant from Northwestern Energy for $42,500 to install Solar Panels on the high school. This 16KW solar array has the potential to cut the school's electricity costs by 7.5%! With a total project cost of $50,000, the Green Team only has to raise $7,500! We are calling on friends from the community to help us shoot for the sun and rays $2,500!
The RLHS Green Team got its start from an initiative to "Green our Sporting Events" three years ago. Perhaps you have a Reusable Rams Cup that you bring to games- that was started by the Green Team. This initiative recieved state wide recognition from U.S. Green Building Council in 2014. Last year, the Green Team was recognized as the SMART (Saving Money and Resources Today) Schools Green Champion. This group has made considerable strides in making RLHS more sustainable in just 3 years!
