Help Get NRG to Beach Brawl

For the first time, Newcastle Roller Girls will be heading Stateside and sending a team to compete at Beach Brawl, held 13 - 15 May 2016, in Florida!
After a very successful 2015, finishing 3rd in the UK, with 2 big winning streaks and also taking silver at Skate Odyssey in Europe, NRG's Canny Belters have been training very hard, are pumped and ready to bring home some gold from the Gold Coast...
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE!
We would like your help with raising funds and can offer you some limited-edition special merchandise in exchange for your kindness - see the Rewards below!
Going to Beach Brawl is the next competitive step for the Canny Belters. Not only will we gain valuable experience by playing against high level teams from the country that invented roller derby, but a strong performance from the Belters will boost our WFTDA rankings, opening doors for more competitive gameplay in the latter half of 2016 and into 2017. As well as being a key step towards achieving our long term competitive goals, success at Beach Brawl would help raise the profile of British and European teams in America and continue to widen the ever growing derby-universe!
As you may know, derby is run on a volunteer-non-profit basis so we need as much help as possible. Although skaters will all make a contribution towards their travel, we want to send our strongest team to Beach Brawl. This means selecting based on athletic ability and not excluding talented skaters due to financial constraints. We want to take the best team, not the richest team. That means raising funds together as a team, and this Go Fund Me campaign is just one part of our Beach Brawl fundraising activities.
Our estimated travel and accommodation costs total £15,400.
We welcome any contributions from you to help us meet our goal, and represent the UK and do Geordieland proud in this international tournament!
