New Paltz Pagan pride parade

New Paltz is the ideal place to express Pagan pride in the Mid-Hudson Valley because it's easy to get to and is already a village packed with parades.  However, paying for a parade the first year will take a fair amount of money; with any luck, we can support it in the future by running a float contest.

A New Paltz Pagan Pride Day could just be a quiet little affair in Hasbrouck Park with some rituals, classes, and vendors, but a parade down Main Street would draw in crowds of curious onlookers who are eager to learn more, shop more, and connect more with energies raised on such a special day.

New Paltz is known for other amazing parades, including one on Halloween that attracts visitors from hundreds of miles away, and LGBTQIA pride parade in June, which arose from the historic same-sex weddings conducted in this village in 2004.

Such parades entail closing down a major state highway, and that means paying for the police to do that job.  A good parade does not come cheap, nor should it.  We hope that each future parade can be funded by charging groups to enter floats in this one, but as with any earth magic, seeds must be planted in order for it to grow.

Organizing this event will take time, particularly securing business and organizational entries in the parade.  Therefore we believe if we can raise this money by September, 2018, we can make the parade happen the following year.

Blessed be, friends; please donate what you can — no matter how small or large — and share this campaign as much as you can with other Pagans.
