This gorgeous face belongs to Nova.  He is due to have major skull surgery within the next few months as he was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, the premature fusion of the skull. He is only 7 months old and hasn't had the best start in life. As his mum I spent my whole pregnancy in bed feeling so unwell and then Nova arrived and needed special care. But we found out what‘s wrong with his skull and that his brain won't have room to grow, if he doesn't undergo this operation.

So we travel more than 2 hours back and forth to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and we will have to stay there for up to a month when he has the op. I'd like to try and raise funds to treat our other children. Jordan (16), Nova’s big brother, was present at the birth and therefore has an amazing bond with him. Tarron (12) loves to play mummy and also tells me how to care for Nova (as if i havent done this before). She had to quit dancing due to funding. Then we have little Lexxis, the baby girl of the family. She is an amazing gymnast and unlike her sister she isn‘t keen on the mummy duties, but will cuddle and read to Nova. She is cheeky and it's rubbing off on Nova already.

Due to the added commitments of travelling to Oxford, being on maternity leave and having to take 3 months unpaid leave to be with Nova for his surgery and recovery, we need some financial support. It would be lovely for us to have a normal day out as a family before the hospital visits become more frequent, but any money left over will go towards keeping our heads above water while I'm off work.

Nova is such a joy to be around and I wouldn't be without him, but the added pressure financially had hit us as a family very hard and my kids have been amazing. I've found them hiding school trip letters because they don't wish to stress us out with added costs. If you can help us, even if it's just £1, we would be very grateful. I’d love to put a smile on these amazing babies‘ faces and maybe even pay for a school trip or two. Any donation helps to cover added costs of food and expenses when we are traveling to Oxford as it's always an overnight stay.

I work for the ambulance service and love my job, but I'm not a paramedic. I work alongside them, so I'm on low pay. We don't get any tax credits or anything like that, so struggle anyway. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. You can read more about Nova on Facebook: Supernova Journey. All our love, the Florians
