Notre Dame Wrestling needs a home

Donation protected

If you’ve ever traveled to the Notre Dame Wrestling Club facility, you’ll find a wrestling room that can only fit around 15-20 people. As of this past season, the club has grown to over 80 young men with the expectation of over 50 more coming into the grade school program next year.

Throughout the years and the evolution of the program, the wrestling team has had to travel to different practice locations to accommodate its growth. For 7 years, the team has been renting out space commuting every day to a facility in Des Plaines until this past season where they hunkered down in the back of a local Crossfit gym in Niles. Unfortunately, the most recent location is going in a different direction and will not be able to accommodate the team any further which leaves the program without a facility or place to train for the upcoming season. In addition, construction for a new wrestling room or new facility is not an option.

The Notre Dame Wrestling Club, a non-profit organization, needs an official place to train and one they can rely on for an extended period of time. Fortunately, through extensive research, the staff has identified the perfect location, a 4784 Sq. ft. facility in the heart of Edison Park.  The dimensions offer the ability to house three full size wrestling mats, work out equipment, an office space, parking lot, and even a waiting room for parents.

All donations raised will go towards the build-out, operating costs, and maintenance for the facility and, most importantly, a reliable year-round training center for the Notre Dame Wrestling Club. Furthermore, it will be the host location for Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman training camps with NCAA & Olympic-level clinicians with the goal of providing elite year-round training opportunities to the community.

Please help us make this dream come true and provide the kids with a place to train for this upcoming (and subsequent) seasons going forward.
