Basketball has been one of the longest-running, most-successful sports at Coupeville High School (101 seasons and counting) and yet doesn't have its own record board.
We would like to raise a record board which would jointly celebrate girls and boys hoops.
The board would honor the young men and women who scorched the nets like no others for the Wolves.
It would feature scoring records, with the top 10 individual seasons and careers noted, as well as the single-game scoring marks set by Judy Marti (32) and Jeff Stone (48).
The board would allow current, former and future Wolf players and coaches, as well as fans, both local and visiting, to get an immediate sense of the long, rich history of Coupeville basketball.
The players on this board would represent seven decades of excellence, with record-setting numbers from Mike Criscuola in 1956 to Makana Stone in 2016.
CHS has record boards for track, football and volleyball hung in its gym complex, and it's high time for basketball to join them.
