Noah's Bed Push Raising funds for Beneficiaries supporting Families with Life-threatening Illnesses

Noah's bed push is now completed safely and successfully. The organisers would like to say a sincere word of thanks to all who  came out to support them in any and every way. People's kindness and generosity was overwhelming.

Last week, starting on Thursday 19th August finishing on Sunday 22nd August, Lee Gooch (Noah's dad and committee secretary) along with Shaun Doherty( Committee member), Robert O'Connor( Treasurer), Mary Duffy(Marketing), Brian McCracken (Chairperson), Dennis Ferry (Committee member) and Leslie O'Donnell(Committee member)  embarked upon a 250-kilometre-long bed push in aid of 9 beneficiaries as detailed below, that help families with children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.

Stretching from Crumlin Hospital in Dublin to Letterkenny University Hospital in Co Donegal, Noah’s Bed Push, so called after little Noah Gooch who has been receiving care at both hospitals since being diagnosed with cancer in January this year, will help raise much needed funds for the deserving beneficiaries. Little Noah, who is 6 years old and has Down’s Syndrome, and his family wanted to give something back and to say thank you for the life-saving medical care he has been receiving since his devastating diagnosis earlier this year.

Noah’s father, Lee Gooch, who is a very popular presenter on Donegal’s Highland Radio, Irelands No. 1 local radio station said the bed push will be an opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds for the hospitals and beneficiaries that give life-saving medical treatments to children and offer support and guidance to families at a time when their worlds are turned upside down and they need expert help in navigating the challenges ahead.

Shaun Doherty, former flagship presenter at Highland Radio, didn’t hesitate when asked to take part in the bed push, saying “This event is a fantastic way of raising vital funds to support these nine chosen beneficiaries. We hope to make this an uplifting and meaningful event in the midst of the difficulties we are all facing at the moment.”

The Bed Push will take place over four days from 19th to 22nd August 2021 and will involve a team of well-known personalities. Noah’s parents Lee and Claire and his brother Lee junior have been overwhelmed by the love and support they have received from so many people.

All funds raised through GoFundMe and direct donations to Bank Of Ireland Letterkenny will be distributed by the committee,to benefit the services provided by the following 9 organisations :

1. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie

2. Crumlin Children’s Health foundation

3. Blood Bike North West
