The Adventures of Noah

Noah was born in August 2015 at 29 weeks (almost 3 months early!) and weighed 3lbs 8oz. He has been in the NICU since birth.

Noah was given quite a few challenges from the start. He has chronic lung disease (from prematurity) which he still suffers from. He also has two syndromes which have affected and will continue to affect his growth and development. In November 2015, at 3 months old, his doctors discovered a large mass on his right kidney. Due to the size, his whole kidney was removed. The mass turned out to be nephroblastomatosis which is a pre-cancerous tumor.

After his surgery he seemed to be doing well and was even on target to go home at one point! However, Noah’s NICU adventure is not over. Towards the end of January 2016 his doctors discovered new masses on his left kidney. At that time there were 3. After much thought and discussion with his awesome doctors and nurses, the decision was made to transfer him to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as soon as possible.

(Saying goodbye to his two brothers, this was the first time that his 2 year old brother had been able to see him)

He was flown from WV to Philly in early February and he is currently in the NICU there.

When he arrived at CHOP, an MRI revealed he now has 11 masses on his kidney. It was decided that he would start receiving chemotherapy and the plan is to give him a 19 week course.

We are not sure how long he will be at CHOP but more than likely for several more months.  That is why I am setting up this fund for him and his parents, to help with the medical costs that it has taken to help in Noah's fight to get better.  Any contribution would be so very much appreciated!  While I know his parents count their blessings each day they have with this little boy, I too am grateful for what he has taught me in the short amount of time that he as been here on this earth.  Through every hurdle he has been dealt with, he fights back and is able to get over it. Please help this little boy in his fight to get better!
