You may have heard that our friends, Laura, Adrian, Hunter & Dylan Fitch, are facing a serious challenge. Dylan has been diagnosed with Nodular Lymphocyte-Predominant Hodgkin lymphoma. Dylan was just settling into his Freshman year at OSU when he got sick. He has started treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. His treatment will take several months, lasting into the spring.

Laura is a small business owner. Unlike many of us who are employed by larger companies, she does not have paid sick time. If she is not working, she is forgoing income. Like any parent, it is important for her to be able to be with Dylan during his treatment. In addition to lost income, there will be costs related to treatment and being in the hospital.

So many friends and community members are asking what they can do to help. There will be a number of efforts to support the family over the coming months. One way to help is to donate to this campaign to help ensure that Laura, Adrian, and Hunter can be with Dylan during his treatment and to help offset medical and other expenses. Please be generous to help the Fitch Family.

Thank you for your continued support. I wanted to share this update from Laura:

Hello friends,

I wanted to provide you with another update on Dylan's health since it has been a number of months since I last posted. Dylan completed four rounds of inpatient chemotherapy at NCH to address the Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkins. The treatments were effective in working against the NLPH, however a PET scan in December revealed that the cancer had transformed into a B cell lymphoma. Not uncommon, but not what we wanted to hear.

The oncologists developed another chemo treatment regime to address the B cell and added an immune therapy component to his plan. He is currently finishing up his second round of this treatment.

Last week Dylan had stem cells harvested for a stem cell transplant that is planned post this treatment cycle. He will undergo another PET scan to determine the effectiveness of these last two treatment cycles. Doctor's will determine if more chemo is required before the stem cell transplant, or if results show Dylan's body responded well, we move directly onto stem cell transplant. Saying this is "huge" is an understatement, but we are focused on taking it on and seeing the successful outcome on the other side.

Dylan is being so resilient and strong and focused on positive outcomes that he amazes not only his family, but friends and his medical team. He is signing up for fall semester at OSU and looking forward to returning to his life as a college student. I can not say enough about the support, guidance and assistance provided by OSU and the Fisher College of Business throughout this entire situation. It has made a world of difference in our lives as we navigate this maize but also his future.

Reflecting on thankfulness, as we often do, our neighbors, friends and community as a whole have been so compassionate, concerned and supportive that we can't thank you enough for the love, prayers and support shown to our family.

Thank you all,

Dylan, Hunter, Laura and Adrian

Team Dylan update:

Dylan enters Nationwide Children's Hospital on Monday, Nov. 19 for his second cycle of chemo treatments. He will be inpatient for 3 days. The good news is he will home for Thanksgiving!

Keep those positive thoughts and prayers coming!

Thank you for your generosity and support for the Fitch Family! The outpouring of support has been amazing.

A quick note about this campaign. The money raised through Go Fund Me is being deposited directly into the Fitch Family Fund at Pathways Credit Union (an account that the family has access to). If you know others who would like to support the family but do not like to donate online, they can go to Pathways Credit Union on Goodale and make a deposit directly into the account.
