Jim Wheelock Burglary Recovery

Donation protected
As many of you may already know, Jim Wheelock was the recent victim of a devastating theft. Someone broke into Jim’s self-storage unit and made off with his personal collection of several thousand vintage comic books as well as numerous crates of record albums.

In Jim’s own words from an article in the Brattleboro Reformer , "I never thought of myself as a comic book collector in the modern sense. I was a reader, and I saved what I read because I loved them. While I love my collection it also gave me a sense of security that I could sell parts of it if things went really bad. My entire collection was taken. It had great personal value and it was also part of my retirement plan."

To date, local authorities have identified, charged and arraigned the culprit but sadly, none of the stolen goods have yet been recovered and it doesn’t look very promising that they ever will be.
To make matters worse Jim was never able to insure his collection so filing a claim is not an option for him.

Although Jim never had his collection formally appraised it’s a safe bet that we’re talking tens of thousands of dollars here, dollars that Jim had planned on to provide him some degree of financial security once he retired.
