This is Neviah. She is a bright, energetic 5 year old who enjoys making others happy with her fun loving attitude and contagious smile. She is the 6th of 8 children in her family and brings so much joy to her mom, dad, and siblings. Neviah has been diagnosed with Leukemia and her family needs your help. This is her story: Neviah has been sick for quite some time with flu like symptoms. On June 24th, 2018, Neviah was taken to the hospital to get checked by out by her physician since she wasn't getting better. She was checked out, told that it was just the flu and nothing looked alarming.  For the next few days she fluctuated from times of getting better to getting worse. On June 27th, she looked absolutely awful, so she was taken to the nearest clinic. She was so bad, that she was put on a Life Flight helicopter and taken to the nearest Pediatrics ICU which is more than an hour away.  After being admitted to the PICU, they began running test after test after test in order to find out what was wrong. They found that her blood platelet count is extremely low, she has a blood infection, her fever was up to 104, and she has pneumonia. They immediately began treating all her symptoms. The started to give her multiple blood transfusions. A tube was inserted into her throat to suction out her lungs. They started her on a series of antibiotics to fight the blood infection. She has also been put on oxygen since she is having trouble breathing on her own.  After continued testing, it was determined on Thursday, June 28th, that Neviah has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  Today is June 30th. She is still currently in the PICU, where she will be for quite some time. The doctors are still trying to help her fight the infection, which they need to get rid of before they can start to treat her cancer. They are in great need of your love and support in this difficult time. Not only is their financial burden very heavy, but the far distance to the hospital makes it difficult to travel to while trying to care for the needs of their other 7 children at home. We are asking that you please help this beautiful family in anyway that you are able. Thank you.

Yesterday was a really good day for Neviah. She has been making a lot of small improvements with each day for the past week or so. Yesterday, however, she a took a huge step towards getting better. Her intubation tube was removed and she is breathing on her own. She has started her chemo treatments to fight the cancer in her body. She was doing well enough yesterday that last night, she was even released from the PICU!

Thank you all for your prayers, love and support! We are grateful for those that have helped Neviah receive the care that she needs, but her fight is not over yet. She has a long road ahead of here. Please continue to share Neviah's story and help us reach our goal.

Neviah is continuing to improve. The swelling in her neck, belly and arm has gone down considerably. She continues to fight the infection in her lungs. Her breathing is getting better. They are hoping to be able to take her off her sedatives and remove the intubation tube in a day or two.

Please continue to include her in your prayers that she will be continue to improve in health. And please share the word that she needs help in order to continue to get the care that she needs. Thank you all so much!

Thank you so much for those who have been contributing to this campaign for Niveah! We cannot express enough gratitude for those who have made donations, spread word about her condition, and for those who have been praying for her healing.

I have more good news this morning. She has finally broken her fever. This one more huge milestone of many milestones yet to come.

Again, thank you you all so very much. I will continue to post updates on her condition as I receive them.

There is some good news this morning. Niveah has fought off the blood infection! Her vitals are starting to look better (her blood count is still low, but it's much better than it was). So she is definitely making improvements. The results from yesterday's lumbar puncture also shows that there is no meningitis.

She is, however, still trying to fight off the infection in her lungs. She is still intubated to help her breath. She has also been receiving her nutrients and medicine through a nasogastric tube.

The doctors have started her on a new antibiotic in order to help her fight the pneumonia. She also has had a significant amount of swelling in her neck that has become much worse since being admitted.

Please keep this sweet girl in your prayers. We need to get her better so she can start fighting the cancer in her body.
