The Nicole Ashkar Memorial Fund

I started this page to help my brother Rich and nephew Cole after the shocking and unexpected passing of my sister-in-law, Nicole Ashkar. On Friday, April 27, 2018, just two days after her 35th birthday, Nicole bravely fought and lost a difficult and heartbreaking battle with a bacterial infection. She leaves behind her husband, Richard Ashkar, a NJ State Trooper, and Cole, their three-year-old son.
Rich has always said that Nicole’s life started the day Cole was born. I think we’d all agree that Nicole was a caring partner, a devoted friend and a loyal family member but that loving Cole was her one true calling. He was the light of her life. She was a natural mother, proud and kind, and Cole was her sun, moon, and stars.
No one is prepared to lose their partner and mother so early in life. Many of you have reached out to our family to ask what you can do to help. Of course the only thing Rich and Cole want is to hug and kiss Nicole and have her back in their lives. While we can’t do that, we can honor Nicole and the love she shared with all of us by uniting to help Rich and Cole.
TOGETHER WE CAN HELP. I ask you to please join me by making a donation in Nicole’s memory and sharing this page so that others may do the same. All of the money raised here will go directly to Richard Ashkar to help ease the worry and financial burden created by medical and memorial services. Any remaining funds will be used to provide ongoing support for Cole Ashkar so that he can live the happy and full life Nicole wanted for him. Every bit helps and all amounts, large or small, are welcome and greatly appreciated.
