As some of you may know, our dear friend and Area X young rider Nicole Le May suffered a traumatic brain injury after a fall from a horse on Monday. (She was wearing a helmet). She remains unconcious in the neuro ICU at Phoenix Childrens Hospital. Nicole is a beautiful, vivacious, kind, and intelligent young lady, we miss her and are praying hard for her recovery. Her family is facing overwhelming medical costs, as well as trying to manage their normal houshold expenses.  Please, if you have a few dollars to spare, could you help out the LeMay family?....we want them to be able to focus on Nicole and her recovery and help to try to relieve some of their finacial worry. Desert Sport Horse and Area X continues to send healing thoughts and prayers your way, Nicole! Come back to us soon!

Thanks so much for your support! Nicole is doing well, she is home now. To talk to her, you would not know anything ever happened! Her recovery has been nothing short of miraculous...even her doctors are unable to explain why her recovery went so quickly once she emerged from her coma....we will put it down to the power of youth and prayers! Nicole's mom is very, very thankful to you all...she believes that the time that she was able to spend with Nicole, by her side, every day in the month that she was in the hospital really contributed to her recovery. Being self employed, it was only through your generous donations that she was able to do this.Thank you!!

My update tonight is much the same as last night...reports from visitors today are that Nicole continues to be more aware and interactive, but not "awake." This is the nature of brain injuries, they take time. Hard as it is, we all have to be patient and let her brain take the time that it needs to "reboot." Because Nicole is progressing on her own timeline for now, I may not have anything new to report each night. Be assured that I will update you when any new information is available. Keep the prayers and well wishes coming, I am sure that somehow Nicole knows that we are all pulling for her! Progress IS being made! I know that all of our support means the world to her family as well.
In other news, Carefree Farms continues to help keep the horses Shamus and Piglet busy and happy. Laura has also set up a link to the fundraiser page on their website, linked here.. http://www.carefreefarms.net/fundraisers.html . Desert Sport Horse teammate Russ Carlson of Trailhead Ranch is donating 1/2 of his fees for his Guided Trail Rides to Nicole's Recovery Fund, Just mention this at the time of booking. Contact Russ Carlson directly via email or go to their website: http://trailheadranch.net/ to make reservations!!! It's the perfect time of year for a trail ride in the beautiful Sonoran Desert , be sure to check this out! We thank Russ for his wonderful support with this!
