Nick and Rena Accident Recovery Fund

$2,637 of $7,500 goal

On September 16th of 2018, my wife, Rena, was rear-ended at an intersection which totaled our new vehicle.  After being given the run-around by both our insurance company and the gap insurance company, we were finally able to replace our vehicle and Rena was unharmed. Getting rides and dealing with the damage, however, proved to be costly. We muddled through, but barely.

Flash forward to December 2nd, 2018. While driving in our new vehicle we were T-boned in a second car accident. This time was very different. As I am writing this, my wife is being x-rayed and I’m waiting to see a doctor.

We already had some major financial woes that I’m trying to overcome. I don’t know how we’re going to afford this hospital trip, let alone another car, new insurance rates and existing bills.

I’m very scared to ask for help. But I really need it right now. This was gonna be a rough end to the year one way or another. I was already preparing myself for a sparse Christmas. Now I’m close to losing all hope for the rest of the year.

If if you can anything to help, we’d be endlessly grateful. I really don’t see any other choices at the moment. So please, if you find it in your hearts to help at all, do so.

I don’t want anything for Christmas but to not have to be able to pay my bills and move on.

A Happy Update:
So the new hearing was held this morning and it’s all good news.
The other driver suffered no major injuries. So that’s great news, but that’s not all.

Turns out only one of the tickets we got actually applied to non IL residents. So we paid the fine for our share of the traffic violation.

All that’s left are medical bills.

Thank you everyone for your support thus far. We could still use help with those medical expenses. (Ambulances am I right???) You’re all blessings and your support is the world to me.

Hello again lovely people.
We are still chugging along. Since the insurance is finally cooperating with us, I re-did the math and concluded we could make the goal smaller, so you’ll see that reflected on the page.
Smaller, of course, does not mean completed. If you could continue to share our news, we’d really appreciate it.
Thank you everyone again for getting us this far.

Finally got pictures back.
As you now know the car was hit right on the driver side door.
I’m just glad Rena is okay. How about those airbags though?

Update 6: Our Altima, the car that was T-boned, was declared Totaled by the insurance company. Believe it or not, I feel good about this. Insurance should eat the cost of that vehicle, but with what they pulled in the previous accident, I’m not relaxing just yet. Still this feels like good news to me.

Not as good news: The Sentra, the car from our previous accident is not all the way paid off. It’s looking like the dealership that sold us both it and the Altima pulled some crap with the Sentra’s gap insurance to sell us the Altima. So thats not resolved yet. I’m talking to people though, so it’s not over yet.
