Service Dog for Nicholas

Donation protected
As many of you may know, our son Nicholas has autism. If you have had the honor of meeting him then you know just how truly amazing, he is.  He is non-verbal and we unfortunately do not know what happens to him when we are not around.  We worry about his safety at times.  We've had him come home with a broken ankle from school and no one had answers for us.  He's also been struck by teachers in the past.   We have always been over protective of his well-being. Having a service dog will allow us to rest a bit in knowing Cooper will protect Nicholas at all times.

We were recently blessed in receiving a chocolate Labrador who we named Cooper. We have always dreamt of a service dog for Nicholas. The reasons we believe a service dog would help Nicholas is because he has very limited communication and a service dog will help build his confidence and communication.

Nicholas also has behavioral meltdowns and a service dog can help ease his tension and fear during those meltdowns. Nicholas was also recently diagnosed with seizure disorder. Nicholas suffers from Grand Mal Seizures. These types of seizures can involve loss of consciousness and violent muscle contractions. Training Cooper to be a service dog will alert the family if Nicholas has another seizure plus stay by his side during that time.

We are also looking to get Cooper trained in becoming a diabetic detection service dog. Cooper will be trained in detecting low blood sugar in Nicholas should he become diabetic.

Once trained, Cooper can go everywhere with Nicholas and become an extension of him. He will help guide Nicholas at school and in public places.  It would make us so happy to see this bond form of unconditional love. Just thinking about this makes our hearts swell. Nicholas is such a loving boy and we would love for Cooper and Nicholas to be the best of friends.

Jacob Bush and Argos K9 are dedicated to easing a bit of the worry we feel everyday by providing Nicholas with an autism service dog. Jacob is a retired Marine who trained K9's for military service.

The cost for the training our puppy will be $9,000.  He will be with Jacob and Argos K9 for about 18 months and we will be getting frequent visits from Cooper to help create a bond with Nicholas.

We don’t have the financial resources to pay for this and have created this Go Fund Me account to try and raise this amount.  Anything you give is appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.  We will forever be grateful.

Thank you and God bless,
Nicholas, Isabella, Mary, Marco and Cooper <3
