A Half-hour Series

Fraternity boys. Sorority girls. Feminists. Slackers.
The guy that hit on every girl possible until he scored.
The trustworthy bartender that was every student’s big brother.
The pretty one.
The smart one.
…And then there’s the ho.
So…. Who were you in college?

“New Dogs, Old Tricks” is a new half-hour series that follows the very realistic, very funny and very relatable lives of Danny Barker and Sarah Dawson- a new couple trying to navigate through college while dealing with surrounding conflicts of classes, social lives and other responsibilities to make it into true adult life in one piece.

It’s a series for a group that really doesn’t have any shows that they can relate to right now: Millennials. It’s a series that lets them know that all of the choices that they make in college about friends, relationships, work and school will form them as an adult—and it’s okay to make mistakes along the way. It’s a series that says that they need to enjoy college – mistakes and all – because you don’t want to have any regrets.

And it’s a series for adults, who see their former selves in the characters and the situations of the show, and reminds them of their college days. The universal situations and relatable characters will make them reminisce about their own antics as they were finding their way into adulthood—Hence the title, “New Dogs, Old Tricks.” After all, we all go through the same trials and tribulations of life as we grow up. It’s just different people at a different time.

Every episode will follow the lives of Danny Barker – an All-American fraternity brother of Gamma Pi Omicron – and his girlfriend Sarah Dawson – an independent college co-ed filled with morals and responsibility – as they deal with their friends, classes, work and all other situations that pop up around them.

Actors in the series include David Otunga , Clayton Snyder , Alix Kermes , Cody Calafiore , Shelley Regner , Brian Tyler Cohen , Austin Davis , Diana Durango , Natasha Coppola-Shalom , Joseph Bruno , Stephanie Katz , Ashley Brinkman , David Eggers II , Jessie Godderz , Pressly Coker , Matthew Kranyak , Robert Peterpaul , Andrew Rogers and Stink Fisher . There are lots of other actors - seasoned vets and rising stars - that will appear throughout the first season.

There hasn't been a season like this in a LONG time. Spun off from the feature film What Happened Last Night , which will be distributed by GVN Releasing through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on February 7, 2017, New Dogs, Old Tricks has staying power because of its broad appeal. Several networks are already interested in the series, but we really want to maintain control of what happens with the series and all of the characters.

Thus, we are running a GoFundMe in conjunction with getting traditional investors. There are 12 episodes that we want to film. We have a solid cast and crew. We are ready to go-- Once we have our funding!

Here's the cool thing... Candice Cain, President of Gemelli Films, enters her projects in literally everything she can in order to bring attention to the people that work so hard. Her film What Happened Last Night is on the shortlist for the Oscars in the categories of "Best Original Film" and "Best Picture." The four songs in Oscar contention, done by independent artists, have been recognized in articles in Entertainment Weekly, Variety and others publications. She fully intends to submit every episode for the big awards, including the Emmy Awards and the Golden Globes. Everyone that is involved in this project will be a part of the excitement that surrounds Awards Season and smaller festivals. While a nomination isn't guaranteed, inclusion certainly is.

We would like to film the second episode the last week in January on Long Island. We do not need the entire $864,000 for the next episode-- That's the entire season as a whole. We already have the first episode in post-production with GVP Digital Media.  We have each episode broken down into single budgets. Once we raise enough for the budget of the next episode, we will film. Of course, it would be best to shoot all episodes at once-- But we're all chomping at the bit to get this done ASAP!

Please note that we created reward levels that we felt would get us our funding the fastest. If there is something that you would want, chances are we will be able to work something out for you. So, shoot us a message before contributing and let's talk about what you want as a reward and what you are willing to contribute to get it.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in a television series from the ground up. It means a lot to us, especially since we've got an all-female production team. We want to show everyone that people that work together in little bits can get BIG things done.

AMAZING NEWS TO SHARE!!!!! Thanks to one single investor, "New Dogs, Old Tricks" is now FULLY FUNDED!!! Production starts May 24th and ends June 15th. How awesome is this??? THANK YOU so much to everyone that contributed and shared our campaign. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have been able to get the episodes that we already finished filmed. We appreciate you so very much.

We are going to leave this campaign open until June 15th because any extra funding that comes in can go towards having even bigger guest stars on the show. Are you interested in a set visit? Here are the exact dates that we are filming on Long Island:

May 24 - 28
June 4 - 9
June 12 - 15

The wrap party is June 15th, and there will be a reward offered for that, in case you would like to join us and meet the cast and crew. (More details coming soon.) We will keep posting photos and updates to keep you informed about the show.

Tune in to Amazon on September 28th to catch the first episode. An episode will be released every Friday. We are SO EXCITED!!!

WOWZA! One person just brought $10,000 to "New Dogs, Old Tricks." This is HUGE for us!! This means that we only need $10,000 more to film another three episodes over the course of one week. Please share this crowdfunding campaign as much as you can because, in the grand scheme of things (especially the entertainment industry), $10K really isn't THAT much money.

Not only that, we are able to keep our production on Long Island and boost the local economy. Helping this campaign provides jobs (even though they are temporary) to about 30 people for one week. Thank you so much for your generosity for getting us this far. We are so close to finishing. With your help, we will get there!

Thank you all for your support. We were able to fully complete episodes 4 and 5 of "New Dogs, Old Tricks." Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to finish episode three-- We just have 2 more scenes to film to get that episode done! A crazy man decided to crash our set while we were filming, which caused a big delay while we had to wait for police to assess and take care of the situation. Fortunately, no one was hurt... but we lost a LOT of time and couldn't finish what we set out to do. We need $4000 in total to finish up episode 3.

We decided to increase our goal to $85,000. We need approximately $70,000 more to finish the first season of "New Dogs, Old Tricks," which is slated to premiere on Amazon on September 28. We could REALLY use your help! Even if you can't contribute, please pass on the link because someone else might.

Right now, episode 2 is being edited. Episode 1, entitled "Tiny's Place," is completely done and has been approved by Amazon for release. We are also currently working on promos, publicity and PR. It is all very exciting, and we couldn't do it without you. Thanks!
On set at "Tiny's Place."
