Nube de Oro is a nonprofit Mexican Ballet Folklorico dance group in Sacramento. For over 20 years, our doors have been open to hundreds of dancers and has presented countless performances in and outside of our community. Our dancers and maestros place great effort into every weekend to learn and hone in footwork, styling, and performance skills.
For over a year, we have had to set aside our folklorico shoes to practice in the dance space we rent-- once they updated their floors. As artists we understand their request for us not to use our shoes, as it is a ballet studio. However, as folklorico dancers, our shoes are a necessity. We have sought out other facilities, while our dancers have challenged themselves to continue to emphasize footwork, practicing on occasions at a local school. During our first "no-shoe season," our dancers never gave in to this obstacle, and instead auditioned for the SF Ethnic Dance Festival, was selected from over 100 amazing dance groups, performing at the 2016 SF Ethnic Dance Festival at the Palace of Fine Arts!
After many years of growth and consistency, Nube de Oro has determined it is time to establish ourselves in our own studio. Our goal is to allow for expansion of current classes (use of our folklorico shoes!) and to include music classes and provide space for other dance organizations who are in need.
All funds raised through this medium will be directly used to accomplish our milestone goal of obtaining a studio for the Ballet Folklorico Nube de Oro.
We know there are many requests for your personal donations, and therefore will accept your support with the utmost respect and appreciation. A donation in any amount is a step closer to our goal, which you can help bring into existence!
