Assault City Roller Derby (ACRD) is Syracuse, New York’s first and only flat-track roller derby league. ACRD was founded in 2007 and is a not-for-profit organization named after the historic Salt City we call home. Unlike roller derby of the past, none of the action is staged or scripted. All of ACRD’s skaters are strong athletes, inside and out. As a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), ACRD provides sports fans with plenty of full-contact action and hard hits.
We're asking the community, our fans, our friends, and our family to help fund our team’s new jerseys this season by March 24th- our first home-bout of the season!
ACRD is a grassroots, all-volunteer sports organization with a focus on the empowerment of women that supports the Syracuse community. Assault City is funded in part by the athletes themselves who pay dues to cover personal and league expenses including the practice space located in Shoppingtown Mall, the use of the OCC’s SRC Arena for home bouts, the equipment needed to set up the track, insurance, personal safety gear, gas and travel expenses to away bouts, and so on. ACRD cannot finance all that the league needs on our own and we rely on the generosity of donors to help make each season a successful one. We’d love for you to be a part of that this season by making a contribution to our roller derby league.
As a part of the Syracuse community, the members of Assault City Roller Derby are proud to give their time to support local charities, non-profit organizations, and businesses in the greater-Syracuse area. Last season, ACRD proudly participated in the tel-auc on WCNY, Creek Float 2016, and Anything that Rolls, which supports AccessCNY, and held a donation drive to support Vera House, Inc. ACRD is always looking to partner with other groups working to make our community a better place.
