Help us open Nerds!
This is Kris Carter:
A fantastic gentleman of many talents, he has spent the last three years managing a modest comic and gaming store in the heart of Nashua, New Hampshire. Over that time he built a strong community of likeminded folks that came to regard the place as a second home. Comic fans, card players, tabletop enthusiasts, collectors, and more would come from all over, making purchases and friends alike. It was a beautiful era indeed.
Unfortunately, sometimes good things don't always last, and the store ended up moving in a different direction, leaving much of the community displaced. Kris has moved on as well, and armed with years of expertise and the moral support of a few friends, he's finally going to try and open up shop for himself. The main issue is simply that opening a comic store is a huge undertaking, and that is where you will come in. Ideally we're looking to open up somewhere between Lowell, MA and Nashua.
Finding a location will take some time, but once we have one reserved, we'll need serious funding to get it up and running. About 70% is going to go directly into location itself; rent, contracters, etc. Another 20% will go toward the fixtures; tables, chairs, shelving, signage, etc. Finally, the remaining 10% will go into stocking the store with all the necessary product.
Our aim is to make all this happen in two months, funding or not. Every little bit will make a huge difference though. Bear in mind that you won't just be helping us out, because this store is not simply one man's dream. This store is the ambition of an entire community of awesome people; people that miss their home. You'll be giving us a place to hang out with old friends and meet new ones, and a place to enjoy our many varied passions. You'll be supporting a vibrant hub for pop culture and entertainment, and we simply cannot thank you enough for it.
No, seriously though. We really can't. Nobody invented a word for how psyched we'd be. Like, picture a kid on Christmas. He's hopped up on candy canes and hot chocolate, opening up his new video game and screaming like an insane bird. His eyes are popping out and he's running around the living room knocking stuff over. We're that kid. Please support that kid.
