Nepal Earthquake Relief

Donation protected
This project will help the rural villagers of MATATIRTHA  to re-build their houses but also to create a Community Center to help them to forget this traumatic experience as well to create an awareness campaign about the basic sanitary measures to avoid infection diseases.

Hi! My name is Flor. I am from Buenos Aires (Argentina).
I have been involved from my youth in different charitable causes and associations disability, orphans, children, breast cancer).

Concerned for the disaster caused by the earthquake in Nepal… I have decided to support my good and admirable friend Araia, creating this project to help raising funds and updating the info.

My friend Araia is from Lanzarote (Spain). She has been leaving in Latinamerica where she has faced the social inequality since she was young. This motivated her to create the Salty Concience Project (www.saltyconscience.com) to create environment and social awareness through the surf culture.

She was supposed to attend a Yoga Retrait in Khatmandu just days after the Earthquake touched the Nepal.

Despite the fear of her relatives and friends but at the same time, proud of her decision to travel alone to Nepal with another aim… the aim to HELP! Araia prepared her backpack and flu to Khatmandu just 2 days after the catastrophe.

Her first choice was to join an ONG but unfortunately there were no place for extra volunteers. So, She had to figure out on the field what was the best way to help.

After some days in Pokhora, she could arrive at the Ananda Yoga Center located in Matatirtha 7, Yoganagar, Matatirtha 44600, Nepal (where she was supposed to do her yoga retrait).

Araia is working with her friends from the Yoga Center (Bharat Rijal) and some locals (Sabin Rijal, Amrit, Manoj, Rajindra and others) trying to respond to the urgent needs by donating food, medicines and materials. Thanks to her family and friends’ support.

But concerned about the lost of the families from Matatirtha, hardly affected by the Earthquake, we have decided to put in place a program to provide food and materials to help them to rebuilt their houses.

Almost all the houses were destroyed and 35 families need a new home.

Each house has a cost of 180 usd including all the materials.

We would like also to create a community center to help them forget this traumatic fact through different activities (music, painting, crafts, theatre), as well, to create awareness about the basic sanitary measures, because we know that beyond damaging and destroying physical infrastructure, natural disasters can lead to outbreaks of infectious disease.
An adequate prevention and control measures are essential for minimizing infectious disease burdens.

Hola! Mi nombre es Flor. Soy from Buenos Aires (Argentina).

A cuántas personas estamos ayudando?
35 familias.

Dónde se encuentra ubicado el proyecto?
MATATIRTHA , Kathmandu, NEPAL.
