Need home heating improvements

My wife and I are newly wed Senior citizens in our 70's. We are on a very fixed income. We couldn't afford to buy propane last winter after we married and it got brutally cold. .. as in freeze the pipes cold.
  We are trying to replace the front door because it doesn't fit well, seal windows and to purchase and have a wood-burning stove installed to heat our home. We have wood... we don't have money and we need to do this work as soon as possible.
 Thank you all for your help. We can't do this on our own no matter how hard we have tried and I am not sure our health will hold up if we have another winter like the last one.
