Yesterday 5/23/17 about 6:30 pm, my love and best friend mark Knox was on his bicycle going to the circle k about 8 blocks from our tailor community. And when he got out of the park he was about a block from the entrane. He crossed Jesse Owens canal he went in the bicycle lane on the left side of the road. There was traffic coming toward him. All of a sudden a light blue Camry began to come closer in the bike lane and mark got closer to the curb. The car swiped him and kept going. Mark hit the curb and went down. He his currently in st Luke's hospital with a fractured clavical ,a chest tube for fluid in his lung and air in his body cavity. We don't know yet if he will need surgery on his collar bone but we do know that he will be out of work for 4 to 8 weeks. He is a mechanic/ parts puller. He has been at this job for 10 years. He is a hard worker a and worried about our rent and utilities. I do my best to help but u am disabled. I lost my left leg on 2/10/16 and am paralyzed waist down. I can't even go to the hospital because i don't have the money for a wheelchair cab. We are going to try too get him on temporary disability until he can go back to work. We need help for our rentand utilities for June and July. I also need supplies like diapers and things. Mark usually buys those things for me. This accident really hit us hard. Any helpw ould be greatly appreciated. God bless you and thanks from thebottom of our hearts.

Marks been home almost 2 weeks and he is doing great. He still has the chest tube in but he goes to the Dr on Friday. We hope that he will get it taken out and the Dr gives him permission to go back to work. Maybe some light duty. He is on the anti fungal medicine for the valley fever and there is the possibility that he may have to take it the rest of his life. A3 month supply is $400. He has to take 2a day so we just get a week supply for $30. We really appreciate the donations, they are the only things keeping us going. With his meds and my supplies, it's really hard. Please keep the donations coming. We have tried to get help from salvation army and food banks, even temporary disability but nothing. So God bless everyone for the donations. Please don't stop. Thank you, from mark Knox and belle meadows lafleur

Here's a new update for Mark Knox he is still in intensive care and he still has a chest tube in place because he still have a slight leak the doctors are being patient to see if the leak will stop on its own so just keep praying for him we have more bad news most of my family and everybody knows I lost my left leg last year and now about six months ago I went paralyzed from the waist down and unable to use my good leg I had a back and neck doctor I went and see him Tuesday and he is talking about having to do neck and back surgery because my neck is doing the same thing that my back did to paralyze me and he's wanting to stop that from happening I'm scared Mark scared and like I told the doctor I really can't do anything right now until Mark gets better I want to thank everybody for all the donations and the prayers and the well wishes I was able to get the month of June's rent and utilities paid and am working on July I'm afraid that when Mark does come home he will have quite a few prescriptions that he will need for his breathing and the valley fever so I'm kind of hoping to include this with our rent and utilities please just keep us both in your prayers and well wishes and thank you again for the donations Mark Knox and Belle Meadows Lafleur
