We're representing the 24 in North Carolina to help bring aid to local families struggling against cancer.

It’s a 24 hour paddle by a team of 6 paddlers. The NC24 will be John Beausang and James Bain, Barry Blackburn and April Zilg, and Tracy Skrabal and Nancy Preston. 

We paddle in pairs for 2 hour blocks of time. We hope to raise $2000 which would be 2 envelopes with $1000 each. We then find a family in our community who is struggling with cancer. Our friend Nancy Preston’s nephew Own is 7 and has a rare form of brain cancer. He’s on chemo and radiation. They are doing fundraisers to help the family and we thought this might be a way to help.

To be able to slide a card under a door and have the family know “There is a community of people who are fighting for you. Our hope is this will give you a moment of peace in this crazy time. - Lots of love from the Monster and Sea community."

Of the 7 envelopes Monsters and Sea gave last year - 5 of those people are no longer with us.

Cancer is a taker and it will grab for anything. Our job is to provide a block and hopefully an ass kicking.
