Native Tree Wedding Registry

Paul and Kim purchased a farm in 2017, with the vision of transforming it from an input-intensive, annual row crop operation to a perennial-based silvopastoral system where we would produce native fruits, nuts, and pasture-raised pork. We will be celebrating our wedding on our farm in October 2018.
We don't need any standard wedding gifts -- we have our household equipped. We don't need a honeymoon fund, because we're making our own heaven on earth right here on the farm. What we would most like is for you to join us to celebrate this wonderful new phase of our life!
However, if you would like to mark our wedding with a gift, we invite you to contribute to our fund for turning our open fields into a diverse fruit and nut orchard. This fund will help us offset the cost of purchasing 1100 native tree and shrub seedlings, tree tubes, and other materials necessary for planting the trees.
We will be making these purchases before the wedding and starting planting in May. However, we hope to have tree planting as part of our wedding festivities, as well.
Agroforesty Needs
- Canopy Tree Seedlings (140 total) include chestnut, oak, hickory, pecan, walnut, butternut, and persimmon
- Understory Tree Seedlings (240 total) include hazelnut, mulberry, serviceberry, plum, crabapple, and mayhaw
- Shrub Seedlings (720 total) include currants, chokeberry (Aronia), elderberry, and honeyberry
- Tree tubes (400 total) to help protect seedlings from deer and other herbivores
- Endomycorrhizal fungal root dip
- Soil auger for excavating holes
- Materials for sighting rows and planting clusters (marking flags, compass, metric tape)
