Natalie's fight with Neuroblastoma
Natalie is the sweetest little 4 year old girl that loves to play and copy her 2 big sisters Emma and Hayley. She is the sweetest and spunkiest little girl and its always a joy being around her. Recently little Natalie has not been feeling well which has prompted numerous doctor visits, on the most recent doctor visit, the doctors discovered a mass in between Natalies liver and kidneys and sent her to Vancouver for further testing. On December 1st, 2017 Natalie and her Mom were admitted into the ICU on the oncology floor at Vancouver Childrens Hospital. On December 7th, 2017, her mom heard the words that no mother should ever have to hear, Natalie has Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. The hospital stay will be long while Natalie recovers from surgery and chemotherapy, and Natalies mom and dad will need to be able to come back and forth from Fort St John to Vancouver to take care of their other 2 children at home.
We are hoping to come together and show Natalie and Deanne our support and take all the burden off her shoulders while she prepares for this next battle with sweet Natalie, while taking care of her other 2 children at home as well.
All money raised will go directly to Deanne, if anyone would like to send an email transfer instead please contact myself for the email.
I will try my best to keep this page updated as to how Natalie is doing.
Thank you <3
I have been asked about Natalie quite a bit lately so thought i would give an update! Yes, Natalie is home for Christmas, she is currently in Vancouver for a quick 2 day trip for some scans, doctor check up and hearing test. She has gained 3 pounds since being home, doctor is happy with the way she looks! She had a MIBG scan done yesterday that shows all the active cancer left. We won't know results until just after the New Year. We do know though she does have some left. She had a hearing test done again yesterday, and unfortunately her hearing was badly affected by chemo and in the new year she will be getting hearing aids. January 15 we start the final protocol, ideally we are looking at completion in late June. As our RMH families know, this is a very rough guideline as things change quickly sometimes. Just a friendly reminder we would love to see everyone, but we can't risk getting her sick so we can try and stay on schedule for treatment. If you have recently been sick please stay away, and don't be surprised when i make you wash your hands when you come in! All for a good reason ❤❤
Thank you everyone for being so supportive of us and sending prayers. We really appreciate them. Merry Christmas
Overall Natalie is doing good, she had surgery on April 26th to remove a part of the large tumour, she handled it like a champ (as usual), and bounced back quickly!
Unfortunately due to other children and sicknesses, Natalie was not able to stay at the Ronald Mcdonald with mom and has to wait until she gets over a cold before she is able to return and start the next round so she is home, resting, waiting to feel better. Send love!
The start of June will bring all her pre transplant tests and scans for her to start the first bone marrow transplant. I will do another update once she heads back to Vancouver and starts that!
Thanks to everyone for the prayers and donations!
