Naseem's Healing Fund

There are people in your life who make you feel genuinely seen. Naseem is that person for everyone lucky enough to know her. She was a mentor and yoga and meditation teacher, someone who gave her time and insight freely, whose warmth and attentiveness are frankly unlike anything most people encounter.

Five years ago, Lyme disease stopped her life in its tracks.

What's followed has been relentless. Lyme disease at its most severe is not the illness most people imagine. It becomes systemic and neurological, affecting almost every system in the body, and it rarely travels alone. Naseem is dealing with multiple co-infections alongside the Lyme itself, which makes treatment complex, layered, and deeply non-linear.

She has had episode after episode with small moments of reprieve in between. Sometimes so acute she's been taken by ambulance. Vomiting, severe dizziness, overwhelming nerve pain, inability to stand, blood clots, chest pain, joint pain and swelling, muscle pain so pervasive that rest brings no relief, crippling fatigue that sleep cannot touch.

Light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, vision disturbances, hair loss, gut dysfunction, chemical and food sensitivities that shrink her world further with every passing month. Memory loss, cognitive impairment, the inability to find words that were once so natural to her.

It has also gone deep into her liver, kidneys, digestive system, reproductive health. There is not a system in her body this disease has left alone.

And beneath all of it, neurologically driven anxiety and depression. This is what five years of chronic Lyme does to a brain. Days, weeks, months and unfortunately years where simply surviving is the only task. Where any enjoyment of life is impossible.

And still, somehow, in the middle of it, she shows up for the people she loves. I have known this woman through some of the worst of it and I need you to understand something. Her spirit is extraordinary. Her warmth, her wit, the sheer depth of her soul and the quality of her intelligence. Five years of this hell, and none of that has dimmed. I cannot wait to see this extraordinary woman back to health.

The NHS does not adequately treat chronic Lyme. What she needs exists, but it is entirely out of reach financially for someone who has been too unwell to work for five years.

Naseem's treatment path is rooted in functional and integrative medicine, working to address the root causes of her illness rather than just managing symptoms. This includes acupuncture, reflexology, IV therapies, targeted supplementation, and personalised protocols that need to be consistent and adapted as her body responds and changes.

These treatments are offering genuine progress. But they are not cheap or short term. Consultations, treatments, and quality supplements add up fast.

Looking further ahead, we are actively researching more advanced treatments that could genuinely shift the trajectory of her illness. Regenerative stem cell therapy is one avenue we are exploring, alongside brain rehabilitation therapies including neurofeedback, neuroplasticity retraining, Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS), Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, as well as physical therapy. These approaches address not just the disease itself but the profound neurological impact it has had on her brain and nervous system after five years. We are working carefully and thoughtfully to find what is most aligned and effective for Naseem's specific situation, and will update this page as her path becomes clearer.

Living with chronic illness at this level comes with daily practical battles that healthy people simply don't think about. Part of this fundraiser will go toward essential accessibility support, including getting Naseem a car so she can reach appointments and access the care she needs, and helping her create a safe, manageable living environment where she can focus on recovery rather than survival. These are not luxuries. For someone in her situation they are the foundations that make everything else possible.

Naseem would never ask for this herself. She has spent years being the one who shows up, who listens, who carries others. This is our turn. She needs us. And if giving isn't possible right now, sharing costs nothing and could change everything for her.

A note on the goal: GoFundMe automatically adjusts the displayed goal as donations come in. To be transparent with everyone who has shown up so generously here, our real goal is £40,000. Every penny of that goes directly toward getting Naseem well.

**WHERE YOUR DONATIONS ARE GOING:**
  • Ongoing functional and integrative treatment including consultations, IV therapy, acupuncture, reflexology and monthly supplements — approximately £1,000-£1,500 per month
  • Advanced regenerative and specialist treatments including stem cell therapy — approximately £20,000-£25,000
  • Brain rehabilitation therapies and physical therapy — costs vary and we are still researching
  • A reliable car for medical appointments and daily accessibility — approximately £4,000-£5,000
  • Home setup and essential accessibility support — approximately £3,000-£5,000
We are still very much researching the different possibilities for her treatment and will update this page as her path becomes clearer.

If you can give £5, please give it. If you can give £50, please give it. If you're in a position to give more, please do. These things are funded pound by pound. The small amounts genuinely add up and matter just as much as the larger ones. Every pound goes directly toward getting this extraordinary woman closer to real treatment, real stability, and real healing.

She deserves this more than anyone else I know. Let's make it happen.

How you can help:
  • Donate if you're able. Every pound goes directly toward Naseem's treatment, recovery, and the foundations she needs to heal.
  • Share this campaign. A share costs nothing and could put this in front of the person who changes everything for her.
  • Send love and prayers. Naseem feels every bit of it, even from afar.

Thank you so so much for your support for this extraordinary woman.
May you be blessed tenfold.
