I met Laura several years ago while working for a major healthcare company and shared a similar journey with her. We both went through a tremendous weight loss journey.
Laura worked VERY hard and dropped over 100 pounds! Even though she maintained healthy eating habits and was faithful to the gym she has excessive skin that bothered her. As you know the extra skin goes no where, and can really become bothersome! In efforts of continueing on her journey she elected to have a tummy tuck. After countless hours of research and discussing the topic with people who'd also had similar procedures, she chose a doctor located in Columbia, South America who had come highly recommended. However as with any surgery, there are risks.
Unfortunately this doctor took unnecessary risks and was extremely negligent in his post operative care. Laura spent over a month in a "Healing House" and after a close call with her life was moved to the hospital in Columbia. She was finally able to make it home, and was immediately admitted to the hospital with 3 very dangerous drug resistant bacterial infections. She has now had 9 revision surgery's, multiple allergic reactions to medications, and will need a tremendous amount of care over months of time including skin grafts and restorative care.
Laura of course has been unable to work for almost 2 months now, and her insurance is not wanting to contribute to costs as her illness as it is a result of what was considered an elective procedure. The new antibiotics are $10000.00 a dose, and she requires them 4 times a day. She is currently in the hospital and continues to fight for her life here in Colorado.
If you could find it in your heart to 1st and foremost pray for her complete healing and recovery, and second of all, consider helping her out with this incredible burden I know she, and her family would be so grateful!!
