McDaniel Roberts Community Project
Donation protected
Over the past 30 years, McDaniel Roberts has dedicated his time and energy to sharing the art of West African dance, music, and culture through teaching and mentoring those in the Raleigh-Durham area (see pictures). These activities include providing free community classes, instructing college students at North Carolina Central University and Duke, and performing at various local schools and community events.
Recently, he was awarded the 2015-2016 Durham Arts Council Emerging Artist Grant in Dance. The purpose of this small grant is to provide quality arts experiences for the Durham-area community. These funds will go toward providing an opportunity for community arts education, culminating with a high-quality performance for all of the Triangle-area to enjoy.
We are requesting funds to help supplement the grant that was received, and will use all money raised for the groundwork of the cultural dance production "Epiphany (MERE)".
We need financial support to offset the following costs:
Technical Support and equipment fees
Musicians
Venues for community meetings, panels, workshops, educational lectures and demonstrations, and production practice
Costumes and wardrobe
One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help someone in a way we couldn't as individuals. Please provide your support for this event, which will take place on November 12, 2016.
We would be so grateful for your support in making this production FABULOUS!!!
