A Push for Sophia and MMCC
Donation protected
Over the last 12 years I worked in a school in Melbourne, Australia, where close to a quarter of the students came from Afghanistan and arrived in Australia under refugee status. These children all had extremely moving stories and some of them had lived things that most of us can't even imagine. I have always felt that more should be done for them, especially in their homeland so they can live a safe and healthy life like most of us.
I recently relocated to Luxembourg with my family and started a new job in a very different school with mostly very privileged children. One of my new colleagues one day told me about his daughter, Sophia, and the charity she has been supporting for a number of years. Sophia is 12 years old and one day she saw some pictures of Afghan children performing in a social circus. She was touched by what she saw and decided to start supporting the Afghanistan based charity Mobile Mini Circus for Children. MMCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Afghan children through circus and leadership programs so they can themselves develop creative and new ways of spreading fun education throughout Afghanistan and slowly work towards building a more united society.
I have myself been impressed by Sophia’s grit and the contribution she is making to help these children in need in Afghanistan. As a result, I have decided to support Sophia’s cause by trying to raise money while participating in the French Divide. If like me you are moved by the stories of Afghan children and Sophia’s amazing contribution, get behind me while I ride and give a push to Sophia and MMCC.
